About Kellie Murry, LPCC

Anxiety, Trauma, EMDR, and Christian Therapist for Women in California

If you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, exhausted from overthinking, stuck in patterns of people-pleasing, or carrying the weight of painful experiences from the past, you're not alone.

Many of the people I work with appear strong and capable on the outside while quietly struggling on the inside. They spend so much time caring for others, meeting expectations, and trying to hold everything together that they've lost touch with their own needs.

My goal is to create a space where you can slow down, feel fully seen, and begin moving toward healing and lasting change.

I May Be a Good Fit for You If...

  • You struggle with anxiety, overthinking, or self-doubt.

  • You find yourself people-pleasing or putting everyone else's needs before your own.

  • You're tired of perfectionism running your life.

  • You carry painful experiences from the past that still affect your present.

  • You're interested in EMDR therapy for trauma and emotional healing.

  • You've experienced church hurt, religious trauma, or are navigating questions about your faith.

  • You're ready to stop surviving and start creating a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.

Why I became a therapist

My journey into therapy began through my work with children and families in the foster care system.

During that time, I witnessed the profound impact that relationships, experiences, and trauma can have on a person's life. I also saw something else: resilience. Even in the midst of incredibly difficult circumstances, people have an incredible capacity for healing, growth, and change when they feel supported and understood.

Those experiences shaped the way I approach therapy today. They taught me the importance of creating a space where people feel safe enough to be vulnerable, explore their stories, and discover new possibilities for themselves.

My Approach To Therapy

I don't believe you're broken.

I believe many of the patterns you're struggling with today developed for a reason.

Anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional withdrawal, and self-protection often begin as ways of coping with difficult experiences.

Together, we'll approach those patterns with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment.

My role isn't to fix you. It's to help you better understand yourself, process what's been holding you back, and develop new ways of moving through life that feel more aligned with who you want to be.

I draw from trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic interventions, and psychodynamic therapy.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your unique needs, goals, and experiences.

At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens within a genuine therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and authenticity.

Supporting Faith and Healing

I also have a heart for supporting women navigating church hurt, religious trauma, and faith transitions.

Whether you're rebuilding your faith, redefining it, or simply trying to make sense of your experiences, therapy can be a space where those questions are welcomed with compassion and curiosity.

You don't have to have everything figured out before seeking support. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where every part of your story is welcome.

A Bit About Me

I was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington and eventually made my way to Southern California, where I've grown to love the sunshine, hills, and sense of community that Burbank offers.

When I'm not working with clients, you can often find me spending time with loved ones, exploring local coffee shops, reading novels, watching reality TV, enjoying the outdoors, or finding small moments of rest and connection in everyday life.

I believe healing isn't about becoming someone different—it's about reconnecting with who you already are beneath the anxiety, expectations, and wounds you've been carrying.

Let's Connect

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and it's completely normal to feel uncertain.

Even if you're not sure where to begin, you don't have to figure it out alone.

I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward greater healing, self-understanding, and growth.
