Christian counseling in Burbank and online throughout California
Christian Counseling looks like every other form of counseling, just with the added bonus of utilizing the Bible and a Christian worldview.
No matter if it’s anxiety, depression, trauma, questioning your faith, deconstructing, relationships, family challenges, we all go through stuff, especially in the church, and sometimes it’s hard to find a safe place that can support you without the judgment or typical cliches you might hear in church.
We can pray, look at Scriptures, talk about your traditions, or have none of it involved at all. I leave this up to you, but want to offer support the best way I know how.
Burnout, feeling you have nowhere to go, fear of judgment, relationship challenges, morality challenges, faith questions, anxiety, depression, doubt, trauma, confusion, fears, overwhelm, people pleasing, needing to be perfect; all these struggles can happen with a person’s faith.

Thoughts like the following, and many more, are common:
"I can’t be honest with anyone at church.” “I can’t let anyone see the real me.”
“If they only knew what I did last night…” “I’m so anxious, but Jesus tells us not to be anxious. Am I a bad person?”
“Am I a bad Christian because I don’t believe the things I’m told to?” “Am I a bad Christian because I don’t want to go back to church?” “How can God really love me after I did what I did?”
“I don’t know if I believe in God any more, but how do I know?” “I have to make sure I do everything right, otherwise God and people won’t love me.”
“I’m so tired and burned out on church and Christianity. But I still love Jesus. What’s wrong with me?” “I know I need help in my relationships, but I don’t have a place I can go to that won’t judge me.”
“I’m losing hope in people and the world. Where does God fit in all this?” “My family thinks I’ve lost my faith and I’m not living inside God’s will any more because I’m not X any more…I don’t know how to reconcile this.”
“I don’t know what to do with the God I grew up knowing, and the world and hurt I see now.” “I feel so guilty all of the time. Is this the abundant life?”
You can find healing from your past hurts, regain connection with God and your relationships, and rediscover your sense of hope and purpose for your future.
Together, we can explore what the Bible actually says about who God has made you to be and how to gain freedom from the incessant feelings of shame and guilt, and begin living from faith rather than fear, hope rather than worry, embracing a life of abundance.
It would be an honor to walk alongside your healing journey and help you rediscover the you that is fully alive. Reach out to me today, and I would look forward to meeting you.
I am happy to include elements of Christian counseling when clients desire it, but I also work very comfortably with clients of other faiths or no faith background.
